Additional Information

The Original Pottawattamie County Fair began in Avoca, Iowa, in 1896, and recently celebrated its 125th anniversary.  The fair continues to focus on static projects, livestock, community engagement, and family fun. The fair has something for everyone-exhibits, daily livestock shows, bounce houses, art, grandstand events, food trucks, queen and princess contests, corn-hole tournaments, and so much more.  The friendly atmosphere in this small town gives all patrons a sense of pride and welcomes them to feel at home while on the grounds.  Camping is available on a first come first served basis. As we work through the years to continue revitalizing the fair, updates are being made and facilities modernized, all while keeping the feel of the original 1896 fair at heart.
